One of the headaches when dealing with bureaucracy is that you are always made to feel like it's one-against-the-world.
It's hard to get your opinion heard when nobody is listening.
But when you add your voice to the crowd, very soon our mutterings turn into shouts.
Please take 5 minutes to fill in this survey about YOUR tenancy.
If we all pull together, we can move mountains!

theres no accountability in housing...im sure because .im what they term a nuicance as in i check frequently on my status that they have put me to the bottom of the list again but how do i know or find out where i am on the list and who gets housed before me and why??????? i have a property.. i dont want to take a property out of circulation i ust want to swap one for another and i realy doubt there hasnt been one for me in 3 years..... and why are they still building units when with the antisocial behaviour in units we all want a house ???? and they are still building sub standard units as in no garage no computer area little storage and crap kitchens and fittings and charging market rent...... there is nothing new on the market as substandard as housing stuff so what do they compare with????

ReplyDeleteThe survey idea is a great one - fill it in everyone!!! I have the foulest neighbours and an ongoing issues with them, they just slander me to housing...I am looking to move,I am not well enough to keep this up with housing maybe/more likely not taking any notice - like all the others before me at my address, I don't want to be here any more. Recently I had a new gas stove put into the kitchen - I was amazed as all that was wrong with the old one was the seals for the oven were gone - figure that out. In the process of installation, the tradesman found that there was an ongoing permanent gas leak under the floor, so, I was paying for a gas leak all three and a half years of my tenancy and living in danger - I am about to write to the local manager of housing to say this is a serious matter, but very sick of this constant vigilance to alive in public housing.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in housing for 15 years. My house is among private homes and I'm fortunate to have wonderful neighbours. I have made a lot of improvements to my home as there seems to be little point in making requests for any maintenance or repairs. I was told last year that I would be required to give up my three bedroom home as my daughter has moved out and possibly transfer to a unit or townhouse. After reading of the problems other tenants have with anti-social neighbours I was very concerned at this prospect. For the last 10 months I have been working two jobs, 6-7 days a week and saved up the deposit and have just bought my first home at the age of 50. I only work in care homes and in a shop, I'm not a high paid employee so I encourage other people to do the same. I thought it would be impossible for me to ever own a house, but if I can do it others can too.

ReplyDeleteHousing NSW will only do the maintenance you have requested after you have gone though the client feedback office and or have taken them to CTTT I have recently had a leak coming from under the tiles in the bathroom fixed this took just over 2 years to be done. Housing NSW Mutual Exchange program does not work a friend has been registered on it for 4 years without even getting 1 offer. As for the anti-social behaviour I have had to take out APVOs against my neighbours, Housing NSW approved of the overcrowding in the 2 bedroom villa next door to me and this has caused quiet alot of anti-social behaviour all of which is aimed at me now, because I work shift work and had to ask them to tone down their noise.
